Algonquin Airlink enjoys a perfect safety record, but we don’t rest on our laurels – we are always working to improve the safety and convenience of our service.
We operate our aircraft with a team of 2 professional pilots, trained to exceed the already rigorous standards set by Transport Canada. Our modern maintenance facilities are certified by Transport Canada and offer the highest level of quality assurance.
Whether you are flying with Algonquin Airlink on a consistent basis or not, we are always have your overall health and safety in mind. Algonquin Airlink has joined forces with TerraPass to offset the carbon emissions that are created with air travel.
Aviation is one of the largest culprits of CO2 emissions. A Cessna Citation II creates 6752 Lbs. of carbon dioxide in a 2 hour flight; the aircraft burns 320 Gal/hr. With an 8 passenger jet and all the seats full each person’s carbon footprint for that flight is 844 lps of Carbon Dioxide. By working with TerraPass we are taking the necessary steps to reduce this negative impact on the environment.
How it works
The best way to reduce greenhouse gas emissions is to use less energy. But air travel can be one of the hardest activities to give up because of its convenience and time savings. When you have to fly, we are taking the steps to balancing your travel by sponsoring reductions in greenhouse gas emissions elsewhere.
By purchasing carbon offsets through TerraPass, Algonquin Airlink is balancing out their carbon impact from all the flights that they do. TerraPass funds three types of leading-edge projects: (1) clean energy such as wind; (2) biomass such as dairy farm methane digesters; and (3) Landfill gas capture which reduces the impact of our own waste. Every TerraPass offset purchase is verified against industry leading standards by an independent third party.
